It was just another typical night at the Seville household. Dave was still at a meeting for work. Alvin was just sitting in the living room playing video games. Theodore was cooking dinner. Nothing exciting. In the basement were two chipmunks working hard at a science project for class. These two studious munks never seemed to get distracted by anything when working. Tonight, Simon couldn't keep his eyes off of her. She was wearing skinny blue jeans that showed off her perfect hips. A purple v-neck long sleeved shirt and black flats went along with this. Half of her hair was pulled out of her face while the rest was hanging loosely around her beautiful face with slight makeup on it. Who can forget those cute, purple glasses of hers? She was just perfect. He has been catching himself staring at her like this a lot lately, but he just couldn't help himself. There has been a feeling he has been getting since they started high school. Now being juniors, he felt that he should do something about this foreign feeling.... But what?
"Simon? Is everything alright?" Jeanette had stopped what she was doing to notice him staring at her in a dreamy state. This made her cheeks turn a crimson color under her fur.
"Hm? Oh yeah, sorry. I was just thinking about stuff..."
"Do you want to talk about it? Anything bothering you?"
"I'm fine, Jeanette. Thank you." He gave her a slight smile to assure her he was fine, when really he had a lot to say.
She walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder, making him blush slightly. "You know I am always here for you, Si. You're my best friend."
He suddenly pulled Jeanette in for a hug, making her go wide eyed at first. But she surrendered and put her arms around his neck. Jeanette really did care for him, in more ways than he would ever know. She just didn't know if she could ever get the guts or find the right words to say to him. Anytime she ever did try, his blue/gray eyes would catch hers and make her feel weak in the knees. This hug was even worse, though, as she felt his strong arms around her. She has noticed since starting high school that his arms have gotten some slight muscles and his shoulders were broader. This made her always swoon on the inside, like it's making her do even more now.
After what seemed like hours, they pulled away and looked at each other. Just as Simon was going to finally speak his mind...
"It's getting late, and Miss Miller will be wanting me back home probably." She turned away to start packing her stuff in to her bag.
"Umm, yeah. You're right. Tomorrow night we can finish the project." He started to drag himself up the stairs with Jeanette close behind, still wondering whether or not he should say something. It was eating him alive inside!
"Hey Jeanette! You sure you don't wanna stick around for dinner? I'm making spaghetti!" Theodore called out from the kitchen.
As much as she wanted to stay, she just had to get home and gather her emotions. "No thanks, Theo. Maybe tomorrow."
They continued to the door. Simon opened it and noticed the rain that was starting.
"Oh great. I hate rain. Well, see you in the morning, Simon." She gave him a quick peck on the cheek and started running before the down pour came. Not very fast, though, because of the being clumsy factor.
"Great job, Simon. Now what?" Simon muttered to himself. He pondered whether or not he should do this, but...
"Wait! Jeanette!" He started after her in to the rain, which started to pick up all of a sudden. Jeanette stopped in her tracks to notice her name being called. She turned and saw Simon running after her.
"Simon! Are you crazy? It's pouring!"
"I don't care right now, Jeanette. If I don't say what I need to say now, it will keep me up all night." He shut his eyes for a moment to gather his thoughts. "Jean.. I don't know how to describe what I feel right now. Actually, what I've been feeling for quite some time now. Anytime I look at you, or even hear your name, my heart starts beating like crazy! I g-guess what I'm trying to say is... I love you, Jeanette Miller. More than you will ever know."
Jeanette just could not believe it. The one person who she has always had feelings for, felt them for her as well? "Oh my gosh, Simon. I-I.. I love you, too. More than you will ever know." The bespectacled munks were so happy. Simon cupped her face with his hands, pulling her in for their first kiss. It was slow at first, but then became deep and passionate. Jeanette smiled against his lips as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. His hands moved from her face to her waist as they both pulled each other as close as they could with rain falling down on their lips. They both slowly pulled away with their eyes still closed, as they felt as if they were on cloud nine. They opened their eyes at the same time, both filled with love for their counterpart.
"I suddenly really like rain." she giggled as they both leaned in for another mesmerizing kiss.
